timeline is just to give a vague idea of the vibes i follow !! it is not set in stone and i'm willing to change things for shipping / other purposes !1998. birth.2003. his mother was diagnosed with cancer when he was around four years old, and she made it just past his fifth birthday before she died. his father left wade with various family members whilst he worked. no one was particularly fond of the boy, as he was mouthy and rambunctious. his father rarely spent time at home as he worked in the military.2008. when he was around ten, his father was injured whilst serving and was unable to serve any longer. this sent him home and he was able to live with wade full time. this was both a blessing and a curse. it got wade out of households that didn't want him, but it put him with a man who was strict and rather aggressive. wade's father loved him, but he expected things from wade. things that wade was unable to do. wade was in trouble often.2013. at around fifteen, wade was pretty used to sneaking out. he was fairly good at it too. he'd honed the skill as a young boy - running from households that didn't want him. but with his dad, it was a little bit more difficult because he actually cared about where wade was. wade had fallen in with the wrong crowd and spent a good portion of his time trying various drugs and partying. he kept his grades up, mostly just to appease his father. but otherwise, he spent the rest of his time doing bad shit.2014. just after his sixteenth birthday he got caught vandalizing the side of a building with a bunch of his friends. seeing as it was his first offense, and his father promised to handle the punishment at home, the police let him go with a warning. some of his friends weren't so lucky. wade got his first spanking in several years that day. and he lost all internet and phone privileges. he was walked to school by his father, and walked home every day. he wasn't allowed to do ANYTHING.his father was so strict about it that he couldn't even sneak out. he was forced to sleep in the same room as his dad and everything. this lasted around four months before wade had had enough. he packed a bag while his father was cooking dinner and he took off. he managed to make it to a friend's house, and they managed to help him out.2015. he was just turning seventeen when he finally left canada behind. his father has no idea what happened to him, as wade never contacted him again after leaving that day. he signed up for the united states special forces and lied SO HARD about his age. he had documents falsified and they let him in. over the next couple years he honed his skills and served.2017. just before his nineteenth birthday, he was dishonorably discharged. they warned him, repeatedly, that if he didn't follow orders that he would be discharged. but he couldn't follow orders. he had a strict moral code of his own that he'd developed over the years that he couldn't break. he tried, more than once, to follow the orders given, but fails ultimately. this sends wade spiraling.rather than return home to his father, who he hopes is still alive, wade attempts to take his own life. while in the hospital from this attempt, he's approached by a group of CIA - sponsored mercenary assassins. they offer him a place in their ranks and assure him that all of his targets would deserve death. little is known about his time with the assassins, however. (more detail will come as i flesh it out!)2019. after leaving the assassins, he returns to the united states wherein he intends to find a civilian job and live a normal life. this is where he meets vanessa carlysle, a prostitute who sweeps him off his feet. he falls for her hard and fast.2020. their love doesn't last long, though. because soon after he's diagnosed with cancer. 34 inoperable tumors that are set to take his life. he breaks up with vanessa in an attempt to protect her from the cancer, and he stops chemotherapy treatments soon after that. not wanting to prolong things. he wants to go peacefully.2021. peaceful is not the word i would use to describe the next couple of months. he decides, ultimately, to return to canada and is offered hope in the form of department k. he becomes a test subject in their superhuman enhancement program in order to try and rid himself of the cancer. it works, to an extent, and he manages to go into remission from his cancer. it's not gone, obviously, but it is like… put on hold. the missions that they had him completing will be detailed at a later date.2022. wade kills his teammate, slayback, and just after that his healing factor begins to destabilize. his cancer returns from remission and he acquires horrific deformities of the flesh. because of this his employers sent him to hospice, a government funded program that was supposed to rehabilitate these super-humans. instead, as is wade's luck, it was a playground for a one doctor killebrew and his assistant. wade was subjected to extreme levels of torture at the hands of these two men. this is when wade first meets death.ajax, the assistant, is as cruel as one could be. rather than killing wade because he was insolent and mouthy, he lobotomizes the closest thing wade has to a friend. wade promptly kills worm in order to end his suffering, but this breaks the #1 rule that dr. killebrew has in the lab. any patient that kills another must be killed. so ajax? well, he rips his heart out. this is enough to restart the healing factor and wade is able to regrow his heart. he kills ajax, and escapes hospice.2023. soon after, he finds himself being propositioned by a former member of department k. he has fairly good reasons as to why he needs wade's help, and so wade consents to allowing his organs to be harvested. he also uses wade to do his bidding for a while, without wade's knowledge or consent. he uses the mind-wipe drugs in order to do this. going as far as to send wade to kill his father while under the control of the drugs. wade ultimately does not kill his father, as someone stops him. (your muse perhaps?) but this is when he stops allowing butler access to him.so butler starts doing things whilst wade is asleep, drugging him & controlling him without wade's knowledge. when wade finds out, he threatens to kill him but then he finds out that butler has kidnapped both wade's daughter and her mother. the butler uses them against him for quite awhile before wade is able to rescue ellie. her mother was DOA. soon after, so was the butler.2024. setting up a safe house for ellie proved to be more difficult than he'd imagined. but he managed to do it. visiting her often whilst also maintaining his distance to keep her safe. he works as a mercenary now, and that's where we find ourselves. with wade just vibin !
